Our Story
Origen
Our origins date back to 1945, when cousins Álvaro Candanedo Candanedo (RIP) and Mariano Candanedo Moreno (RIP) decided to open an office to offer accounting services. Don Álvaro worked at the Municipal Court in David, Chiriquí, and after work, he devoted himself to running his accounting office.
Founders
The founders of Candanedo y Candanedo started in a building next to what used to be the National Bank in David. After several moves to other central locations in the city, they established their own building in 1983.
Álvaro and Erick Candanedo
In the 50s, Mariano Candanedo decided to leave the company, leaving Álvaro at the helm of the firm, which retained his name. At the end of the decade, Álvaro's son, Erick Candanedo Martínez, joined the company and assumed control of the firm in the 1970s.
Don Álvaro dies
With the passing of Don Álvaro in 1983, he left behind a legacy of high esteem, both as a human being and as an accountant and judge. His legacy of honesty, seriousness, ethics, and professionalism remains a fundamental pillar of the Firm, inspiring subsequent generations.
Own headquarters
Upon assuming the leadership of the firm, Erick Candanedo Martéz established his own style, always respecting the values of his predecessors. Under Erick, the firm grew, moved to its own headquarters, consolidated its presence in Chiriquí, and became actively involved in organizations related to accounting services.
Erick and Diana Candanedo
The 90s marked the beginning of the third generation at the prestigious Candanedo y Candanedo firm. Don Erick, in addition to being a professor at the Autonomous University of Chiriquí, delegated control of the company to his children, Erick Candanedo Pimentel and Diana Candanedo Pimentel, at the end of the decade.
Candanedo and Candanedo
Both maintained the firm's core values and formally established its corporate vision and mission. What was once a tradition is now part of Candanedo & Candanedo's formal structure: to be recognized as a firm of excellence in providing accounting and related services nationwide.
Marbella Branch
This positive approach led the new representatives of Candanedo and Candanedo to open a branch in Marbella, Panama City, at the end of 2006, and to implement a professional development program that included the creation of management positions in the areas of auditing, tax, accounting, consulting and legal affairs.
